Before he left for the day, our colleague Shrai Popat reached out to Rosie O\u2019Donnell<\/strong> to ask if she had any response to Donald Trump<\/strong> including a deepfake AI rendering of her supposedly confessing to suffering from \u201cTrump Derangement Syndrome\u201d in his latest attack on her on social media.<\/p>\n

Shrai passes along this reply from O\u2019Donnell, the comedian and former talk show host Trump has obsessively criticized in crude terms for two decades now:<\/p>\n

Convict.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">The post, which was <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/realDonaldTrump\/status\/2072681271566708832\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">shared by<\/a> an official White House account, depicts testimonials from AI renderings of O\u2019Donnell and five other Hollywood critics of the president \u2013 <strong>John Leguizamo<\/strong>, <strong>Whoopi Goldberg<\/strong>, <strong>Ed Norton<\/strong>, <strong>Robert De Niro<\/strong> and <strong>Julia Roberts<\/strong> – in which they praise an AI rendering of Trump, depicted as a doctor in a white lab coat (not red robes), for treating them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">After Trump attacked O\u2019Donnell in the first debate of the Republican primary campaign in 2015, the comedian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=64YhFQ99a-c\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">shared a YouTube clip<\/a> of her mockery of Trump on a 2006 episode of the talk show The View, which, she said nearly a decade later, he \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Rosie\/status\/780616540395859968?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E780616540395859968%7Ctwgr%5E2a3768064dcad9fd922a484ce5baa49d4fc50e7a%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Ftheintercept.com%2F2016%2F09%2F29%2Fmaybe-donald-trump-listened-megyn-kelly-instead-roger-ailes%2F\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">can\u2019t seem to get over.<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">The clip revealed that what O\u2019Donnell did to so enrage Trump was to scoff at him for holding a press conference to announce that he would not be taking away the title of Miss USA from a young woman who was caught drinking and taking drugs at a nightclub. After doing a broad impression of Trump, O\u2019Donnell said: \u201cHe annoys me on a multitude of levels.
